Over a period of a few classes, we learned about lettering, made some creative decisions, and designed our own alphabet. DVS Kids used their tool kits to sketch, paint, colour, draw, and develop their own style of typography unique to themselves.
This activity helps children ponder their own sensibilities thoughtfully, helps them to create a sense of individuality, and truly teaches them independent confidence building skills. They are asked how they can apply themselves uniquely to real world things, how to make their impact, and how to apply their inner self to the outside world in a meaningful and elevating way so they can genuinely love and enjoy their own sensibilities and talents, and the work they do.
Learning how to support, encourage, and uplift their peers though life-giving feedback is another bonus lesson in the DVS curriculum. We learn to push each other towards our strengths and give one another new ideas and suggestions.
This activity was part of the 2022/23 DVS Curriculum. To get the 2023/24 DVS curriculum announcement and promo codes for early bird pricing, subscribe to the newsletter.
